Who We Are
Drew Ramsey, M.D. is a nationally recognized thought leader in holistic and nutritional psychiatry. He is a board certified adult psychiatrist with specialization in the treatment of mood disorders and anxiety, using integrative psychiatry and nutrition, clinical treatment and psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology. Dr. Ramsey teaches and supervises clinical evaluation, nutritional psychiatry, and psychotherapy as an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University since 2004. He has been in active clinical practice for 15 years. He completed his medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine and a 4-year residency in adult psychiatry at the Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute. Samantha Elkrief, LMSW brings a unique clinical experience and training as a social worker, holistic health coach and health-supportive chef. She specializes in change and her toolkit is unique to help you find a place of contentment and joy with food. She is an expert in plant-based and vegan diets, and an unparalleled ally for clients with food sensitivities, allergies, and intolerances. Along with a masters degree in social work from Columbia University, she is a certified health coach and graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and trained at The Natural Gourmet Institute.

Services We Provide
Consultation and Evaluation
New patients in our clinic begin with a psychiatric evaluation, a 75 minute meeting to assess and understand your current situation, mental health symptoms, and treatment options and goals.
Nutritional Psychiatry: The Brain Food Clinic
Brain health and function depends on optimal nutrition. Our clinic offers dietary assessment and food prescription along with coaching, meal planning, and hands on skill building in your kitchen. The assessment covers your current diet, goals, and challenges with food. You’ll leave this initial appointment with at least 2-3 recommendations that include tangible actions you can take to begin improving the nourishment of your brain. We work with eaters of all stripes, whether you’re vegan, paleo, Whole30 or have a food allergies or dietary restrictions. Our allegiance is to your brain health.
Psychotherapy and Coaching
We provide active talk therapies and health coaching to help you understand your emotional self, and reach your personal, professional, and health goals. We provide both long term and short term treatments that provide support, accountability and deeper understanding to help you overcome your current challenges and bring more joy, satisfaction, and authenticity into your life.
We prescribe and manage psychotropic medications for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Video and Phone Sessions
When appropriate, we will see patients by video and phone for our clients who travel frequently or do not live in New York City. Our nutritional assessments and coaching services are available to individuals worldwide. For medication management and psychotherapy, initial consultations must be in person at our clinic in New York City.
