Meg is a licensed therapist who has a strong practice in substance abuse/dependence. Additionally, she specializes in anxiety, depression, women’s emotional health, mood disorders, life adjustment issues, trauma and PTSD. Meg is also trained in amino acid therapy and nutritional psychiatry, which is the practice of using food and food supplements as alternative treatments for mental health disorders. Research suggests there is a correlation between the gut biome and the development of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. Meg works with patients using a body, mind and soul approach to healing.
Meg is a LCDC (Licensed Chemical and Dependency Counselor), LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor) and is National Board Certified (NCC). Her certifications include: CIP (Certified Intervention Professional), AADC (Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor), CCTP (Clinical Certified Trauma Professional) and CRNC (Certified Recovery Nutrition Coach). She is also a Certified Professional Coach.
Meg’s clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Reality Therapy. Her approach is genuine, direct and engaging. Meg has raised two children, who are now young adults, and is active within the community. Meg has a private practice in the Memorial/Tanglewood area of Houston, TX.
