Kale Party in NYC Oct 7! #kaleday2015

Hi Friends,

So happy to share with you details about the 3rd Annual National Kale Day. What started as a crazy idea around our book 50 Shades of Kale – has become an international grassroots effort with both online and offline events around the country and dedicated sponsors that are helping driving our mission to use kale as a springboard to start a discussion about the role food plays in healthy living.

Speaking of Parties – I want you to join us at our BIG KALEABRATION in NYC. This year’s event will be bigger and better with kale cocktails, appetizers, kale samples, a photo booth and more. It will be a ton of kale fun. Join us on Oct 7 from 6-9 pm at Libation NYC at 137 Ludlow. RSVP Now at rsvp@nationalkaleday.org.

If you can’t make the party, we still want to see your kale! Please celebrate by enjoying kale and tagging your social media posts with #kaleday2015

Also – I mentioned our great sponsors. We couldn’t reach all the people we do without their help. This year we have all these great sponsors supporting our efforts so be sure to show them some love and look for their products.

Even Hotel

EVEN® Hotels

These guys know how to do hotels right and they are bringing a new type of hotel with wellness in mind to the market. Look for their newest location opening in NYC soon.

Fuji Kale

FujiKale

I’m all about kale all the time – so I love the fact that they have kale powder that I can take with me. It’s so convenient and they even have recipes to show you had to add it to your favorite dishes.

sanmiguel

San Miguel Produce & Cut N’ Clean

I love these third generation farmers that for the second year are “Giving them Kale”. Yep – they are literally giving out over 30,000 bunches of kale to promote National Kale Day in the Southern California area.

AMDF

American Macular Degeneration Foundation

More than 10 million Americans suffer from Macular Degeneration. AMDF understands that key foods and a healthy diet support good eye health. Their new cookbook Eat Right For Your Sight has some great recipes many that feature kale!

calorganic

Cal-Organic Farms & True Juice

These farming friends grow kale, but also dozens of organic fruits and vegetables for the masses. But if that isn’t enough, they use those same fruits and vegetables in a new line of organic juices. I love knowing my farmer.

Simply 7 Snacks

If you don’t know these guys you should. They are revolutionizing the snack chip industry with great tasting snacks with a simply list of ingredients – that are also GMO Free. Besides their already large list of snacks like lentil and quinoa chips – I am super excited that they will be launching their new line of kale chips in November so stay tuned.

It’s no secret that kale is my pet project – but I know first-hand how good food contributes to healthy bodies and overall brain health. I am so thankful that I learned this secret early on and I can be a passionate advocate for kale and other powerful brain foods. Stay tuned for more brain food news in the coming weeks and months.
