Will Chocolate Help You Win a Nobel Prize?

That was the question posed to me by WCBS after this study came out in the New England Journal of Medicine. Honestly I think this study shows the editors and the author of the study have a great sense of humor. It is a simple correlational study comparing the number of Nobel Prize winners in a country to the amount of chocolate eaten per capita per year. I think with the wording of the conclusion “Chocolate consumption enhances cognitive function, which is a sine qua non for winning the Nobel Prize, and it closely correlates with the number of Nobel laureates in each country.” The author seems to acknowledge he is having fun.
